Taurus Season/May 2018

Looking ahead: Taurus season
Aries season brought forth a fresh and illuminating wave of energy for us to work with and apply towards the initiation of new projects and new relationships. We likely moved into a greater intimacy with the way we want to express ourselves as authentic individuals in the world, and felt our drive and energy levels symbolically thaw after a long period of internal work. In Taurus, we are asked to ground our ideas and give form to the inspiration we drew forth while our creative energies were reaching their high. This season is about rooting the potential we accessed and giving root to our newly formed seeds.
The energy of the bull is constant, patient and present in its conquest of the materialization of its desires. Add faith to this combination and you have the tenacity and strength of will to achieve anything you set your mind to. However, things don’t always move as quickly as we would like. Taurus reminds us that we can nurture the unfolding of our desires with small yet persevering daily efforts; and that our dedicated presence is a powerful tool for manifestation.
As the flowers emerge and the scents of spring intoxicate the air, our sensory experience likewise blossoms and brings an awakening of the cycles of nature, which conceal the principle of rebirth in every dying phase. Move forward in celebration of the endless abundance and beauty of nature and align yourself to your heart’s desire in order to have the inner harmony required to attract it into your life.
May 15th: New Moon in Taurus
This New Moon is ruled by the earthy archetype of Venusian energy and provides a great opportunity to set your intentions for the abundance, prosperity, pleasure, beauty, and sensory joy you would like to invite into your life. Release your attachments to the desired outcome of your efforts and internalize the feeling that you have already received what you long for. Venus, the ruler of Taurus, stands for the principle of attraction, and recognizes self-worth, positive self-image and alignment with our values as the essential groundwork for materialization. Once we master how to radiate a feeling of wholeness and completion from within first, we can attract anything from the outside world into our lives.
This New Moon also occurs just before Uranus, which has been stationed in Aries since 2010, moves into Taurus. The movement of slow moving external planets into new signs signals a collective shift in the embodiment and management of the themes contained within those planets. Uranus’ ingress into Taurus suggests a rapid evolutionary shift in the way we understand finances, personal possessions and the relationship between our self-worth and our ability to successfully trade our services for material abundance. We have only to remember that the bull, symbol of Taurean energy, is embodied by a bronze statue on Wall Street, to recognize just how deeply connected this sign is with our relationship to money. Uranus in Taurus invites rapid social change in the way we understand and work with finances that has as its ultimate goal greater freedom for the collective. It may be a bit of a rocky road, however, as Uranus acts through chaos and social disruption to make it’s point known. It will stay in Taurus until April 2026.
May 29th: Full Moon in Sagittarius
The axis of tension between the Sun in Gemini and Moon in Sagittarius rests primarily on the management of personal knowledge and how readily it is being elevated in order to create greater wisdom and a more expansive world-view. This dynamic speaks to the importance of understanding that all of our life experiences can be used as research for our spiritual development and opportunities to exercise the spiritual knowledge we have collected on a behavioural, communicative and practical level. As Sagittarius is the eternal optimist of the zodiac, and Gemini the excitable thinker, their opposition points to how important it is to be mindful of our thoughts and to nurture the positive, faithful perspective in the pursuit of any endeavour as much as possible. As this Moon also coincides with an opposition between Venus and Saturn, it is important to be mindful of our self-talk around finances, personal appearance, and the way we are managing our relationships. Love and nurture yourself so you can learn more readily from your mistakes.
